We\u2019ve already written a little about the 2019 Ford Ranger release date and features<\/a>, but we recently got some awesome shots of the 2019 Ranger with the FX4 Off-Road Package at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show and wanted to focus a little more on the off-road capability and Ford toughness that this midsize truck will bring to the road, and maintain off of it. Axles and Suspension<\/h3>\n

The Ranger FX4 comes standard with an electronically locking rear axle, and has a Dana\u00ae AdvanTEK\u00ae independent front axle and a solid rear axle. This vehicle delivers a tall ride height to make it easier to scale any obstacle. Off-road shocks also help the 2019 Ranger take on trails without breaking a sweat.<\/p><\/div>\n

Terrain Management<\/h3>\n

Like the Ford F-150 Raptor,<\/a> the 2019 Ford Ranger FX4 Off-Road offers selectable driving modes, which optimize vehicle controls, throttle responsiveness, and transmission gearing to deliver great traction. Terrain System Management modes include normal; grass, gravel and snow; mud and ruts; and sand.<\/div>\n

Skid Protection Features<\/h3>\n

All models of the 2019 Ford Ranger FX4 Off-Road will come with frame-mounted skid plates and a front bash plate made from heavy-gauge steel. In the photo (above) from the Chicago Auto Show 2018 you can also see convenient front loops that will make it easier to haul other cars out of the ditch.<\/p><\/div>\n

Trail Control: Slow-Motion Cruise Control<\/h3>\n

The FX4 Off-Road will also come standard with an all-new Ford feature: Trail Control\u2122. This system will function like cruise control for low-speed off-roading, freeing up drivers to concentrate on choosing the best path and not on worrying about speed.<\/p>\n
