What Ford models are compatible with Alexa?<\/h2>\n

Thanks to the SYNC AppLink system, drivers and passengers will be able to enjoy the functionality of Alexa voice commands. This advantage will be available on vehicles equipped with the SYNC 3 infotainment system. With this app option, drivers will be able to get questions answered and even control smart house and vehicle features. Ford owners and lessees will have to activate the Ford+Alexa app and connect it to their greater network in order to use certain commands. Ford+Alexa and and other smartphone connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto cannot be used at the same time.<\/p>\n

Most 2019 model year Ford vehicles will be available with the SYNC 3 infotainment system, including models as varied as the EcoSport compact crossover, the Transit Connect van, and the Fusion. We don’t have information yet about technology options on the 2019 Ford F-150, but we assume that it will be available.<\/p>\n

What can you do with Ford+Alexa?<\/h3>\n

With the Ford+Alexa app, customers will have access to 25,000 Alexa skills. You will not need to have an Amazon device or an Amazon Prime Account to use this app, though some features may not be available if they are not connected to other accounts and devices. Some practical things you can do with this feature include:<\/p>\n

  • Play music using Amazon Music, TuneIn and iHeartRadio<\/li>\n
  • Find destinations or attractions and request navigation information<\/li>\n
  • Check news report or request information<\/li>\n
  • Put items on a shopping list or even purchase things through your Amazon account<\/li>\n
  • Close your garage door, turn on house lights, and control other smarthouse features<\/li>\n
  • Remote start your engine or lock doors of your vehicle via Alexa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
