These engines are designed to provide power and torque similar to larger-displacement, naturally aspirated engines while delivering improved fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions. EcoBoost\u00ae engines can offer about 30% better fuel efficiency and 15% lower greenhouse gas emissions, creating a strong balance of performance and efficiency. Standard in the Raptor and top-of-the-line F-150 Limited.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><sup>*When properly configured. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. GVWR based on Ford segmentation.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>These three EcoBoost\u00ae engines feature Ford\u2019s port-fuel and direct-injection system (PFDI). Each cylinder has two injectors\u2014one in the air intake port and the other inside the cylinder\u2014to help improve performance. The engines also use twin intercooled turbochargers and a dual-overhead-cam design with variable intake and exhaust cam timing. In addition, the upper block and cylinders are made from high-strength compacted graphite iron, the same material used in the Super Duty\u00ae 6.7L Power Stroke\u00ae Turbo Diesel engine.<\/p>\n<h3>What transmission are 2019 Ford F-150 EcoBoost\u00ae engines paired to?<\/h3>\n<p>All three engines are paired with an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. It features optimized wide-span gear spacing, drag-reduction measures, and three overdrive gears for smooth and efficient performance.
