Why is the Ford F-150 so popular?<\/h3>\n

According to Ford, there are more F-Series trucks on the road with 250,000+ miles on them than any other brand.<\/p>\n The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for more than 30 years. That’s saying something. As Forbes puts it: \u201cCan 32 million Americans be wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n There could also be a local connection to explain the special fondness us residents of the Gopher State have for this classic manufacturer from Detroit. Minnesota has a long history with Ford, going back to when ol\u2019 Henry himself made a deal to sell his \u201cFordmobiles\u201d at Stephen Tenvoorde\u2019s bicycle shop in St. Cloud back in 1903 (and the Tenvoorde family still sells Fords there right up to the present day; we’re not so sure about bicycles).<\/p>\n The Ford Motor Company opened a production plant in Minneapolis by 1912, and then a larger facility in St. Paul by 1925. Located in the Highland Park neighborhood, it didn\u2019t close until 2011. Ford chose the location because it was located above a massive amount of a mineral called silica, which is used to make glass. They mined the material directly underneath the plant and brought it up to the floor above to be baked into glass on the spot.<\/p>\n But perhaps the most exciting development for Ford in Minnesota came when Kimber Creek Ford dealership opened its doors to the Brainard area from their base in Pine River.
