This is because for the 2017 model year, the Ford Explorer offers an eco-friendly engine option that works to reduce fuel spending while still creating the powerful drive we know and love from the Explorer. Under the hood of the new 2017 Ford Explorer<\/a>, drivers are able to opt for the Sport or Platinum trims that offer the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost\u00ae engine option, which provides better fuel economy and power simultaneously. With this engine option, drivers are able to create enough power for every day of the ear with a maximum of 365 horsepower. And the perks don\u2019t end there, either. This engine option conserves gas, achieving 19 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also available for the 2017 Explorer is a 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine option. While this option offers the same fuel economy as the 3.5-liter engine, it caps out its power output at 280 horsepower, which is still nothing to turn your nose up at!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
