Every summer, hundreds of thousands of people descend on Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the annual EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association)\u00a0AirVenture. AirVenture is one of the\u00a0largest air\u00a0shows and conferences in the world, attracting visitors\u00a0from all over the\u00a0world. This year’s AirVenture featured a first-of-its-kind F-22-inspired Ford F-150 Raptor. The Raptor already has a great reputation for performance and capability, but with some accents and inspiration borrowed from one of the Air Force’s top fighter jets, the Raptor really soars. Ford F-22 F-150 Raptor features<\/h3>\n

When Ford’s\u00a0<\/span><\/span>design<\/span><\/span>\u00a0team met with Ford Performance to begin planning this F-22-inspired Raptor, there was a lot to cover. There are a number of different aspects added to upgrade the Raptor to fighter j<\/span><\/span>et status. As far as performance and handling goes, the F-22 Raptor offers a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>whipple<\/span><\/span>-intercooled high-output\u00a0<\/span><\/span>3.5-liter twin-turbo\u00a0<\/span><\/span>EcoBoost<\/span><\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/span>\u00a0making 545 horsepower and 660 lb.-ft. of torque, a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Modified Addictive Desert Design front suspension and bump stop kit,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Fox bypass series shocks with adjustable compression and rebound valving to customize damping for on-road and off-road\u00a0<\/span><\/span>use,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Upgraded<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Alcon six-piston painted calipers, oversized rotors, high-friction pads, and so much more!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ford Raptor Auction, EAA<\/h3>\n

The special-edition Ford F-22 F-150 Raptor was auctioned off at this year’s EAA AirVenture for a whopping $300,000! All of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>procee<\/span><\/span>ds<\/span><\/span>\u00a0from the auction went to the EAA Young Eagles program.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Based<\/span><\/span>\u00a0out of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Oshkosh<\/span><\/span>, Wisconsin, the Young Eagles advocate and encourage the entry of youth into the aerospace field and flight. The lucky auction winner was none other than\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Gary<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Ackerman of Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas. This raptor couldn’t have found a better home, as Ackerman is the Honorary\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Commander<\/span><\/span>\/Ambassador for the United States Airforce’s F-22 squadron at Nellis Airforce Base in Nevada!
