The Ford Escape is truly one of the best crossover SUVs in the world. The 2018 Escape finished at or near the top of all of U.S. News’ compact SUV rankings. As a smaller ride than say, the Ford Explorer, one might not expect the Escape to be too roomy. But just how much space is there in the 2018 model? The Escape has plenty of passenger and cargo volume, so keep reading to find out specifics.

2018 Ford Escape cargo capacity

Make no mistake, there is plenty of room for seating, storage, and cargo in the new Escape. Okay, we’ll stop burying the lead. The 2018 Ford Escape offers up to 67.8 cubic feet of total interior cargo space. That measurement comes with the back seats folded down, and with the seats up there are still more than 34 cubic feet of cargo volume available.

2018 Ford Escape passenger space

In addition to the cargo volume, there are nearly 100 cubic feet of passenger volume (98, to be exact). The front legroom comes in at just over 43 inches and front headroom is 40 inches, so even the tallest of you will be comfortable. In the back seats, there are still 37 inches of legroom as well as more than 55 inches of shoulder room. Although it is a compact SUV, it’s still as roomy as ever. Don’t let the “compact” label discourage you if you’re looking for a spacious interior. On top of all of that, the Escape is also competitively priced. Starting at an MSRP of just $23,850, the 2018 Escape offers some of the best prices in its class, considering all of its inclusions.
