Easter Events 2019 in Brainerd MN
With Easter approaching on the 21st of April, you might be looking for ideas on how to have a great celebration in honor of the only time of year that eggs and rabbits get conspicuously mixed up with Christianity.
That’s why we stepped in to help provide the ultimate Easter weekend in Brainerd via some of the local events we’re most excited for. Follow our schedule and you’ll find plenty of fun for kids, parents, and even pets!
When? Saturday, April 20, from 10 am to 11 am
Where? Gregory Park, 511 N 5th Street, Brainerd, MN
This short, sweet, and intense egg hunt is for ages 2-9 and will begin with a meeting at the center circle in Gregory Park. It’s recommended you arrive at 9:45, as these guys like to start hunting at 10:00 am on the button. There will be a briefing beforehand, followed by the prospective hunters separating out into their specified “quadrants.”
The hunt itself usually lasts no more than fifteen minutes. In addition to the exciting search, the Easter Bunny himself will be around and willing to participate in both hugs and photographs. Unfortunately, he will not be made of chocolate so please don’t try taking a bite.
The four age-group quadrants are:
- 2-3 year olds
- 4-5 year olds
- 6-7 year olds
- 8-9 year olds
Once a child collects ten eggs of their assigned color, they will be able to turn in their eggs for a goodie bag. Additionally, the Brainard Rotary will be doing a raffle to win fully-stocked Easter baskets this year.
A couple things to note are: you will probably have to park on the street, and hunters should bring their own basket for collecting the eggs.
Paws in the Park – The Easter Ball Hunt at Buster Park
When? Saturday, April 20 from 2 pm to 3 pm
Where? Buster Park – A Playground for Dogs, Brainerd
Now that the kids have been satisfied by the morning at Gregory, head over to Buster Park after lunch to give the dog its dose of Easter fun- it’s only fair! Tennis balls will be scattered throughout Buster Park as well as along the Boom Lake Trail, and the dogs will get to hunt for them.
Each dog is allowed to keep one tennis ball, while the rest should be turned in in exchange for a treat bag reward. Please note that all dogs participating must be on a leash during the hunt. This event is free.
Have You Ever Wondered: How many Mustangs have been made?
Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge Easter Buffet Brunch
When? Sunday, April 21st from 10 am to 2 pm
Where? Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge, 25039 Tame Fish Lake Road, Deerwood
Now that child and animal alike have gotten their egg hunting fun out of the way the day before, it’s time to celebrate Easter itself with a good old-fashioned Easter brunch. This delectable meal is out in Deerwood, so if you live in Brainerd you can enjoy a nice countryside drive on Easter morning, accompanied by a hopefully beautiful sunrise and selection of ebullient sermons on the radio.
Be warned that, unlike the others, this is not a free event. Adults cost $26 and children cost $12, while if you happen to be under five, dear reader, you can get in for free. The price does not include tax and gratuity.
A variety of delectable foods will be available for ingestion, including Hickory Smoked Ham with Rum Raisin Sauce, Fresh Atlantic Salmon with Fruit Salsa, Fresh Hot Caramel Rolls, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Lava Cake, and much more.
Reservations are required, so give a call to 218-678-4644 if you’re interested.
Thanks for reading, and we here at Kimber Creek Ford would like to wish you a thoroughly delightful Easter 2019!
