A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard on all Ranger vehicles and offers seamless and rapid shifts. Models with rear-wheel drive have an 8.4-inch ground clearance, while those with four-wheel drive have an 8.9-inch clearance. The Ranger can be ordered with a Terrain Management System, which modifies factors like transmission gearing and engine reactivity to enhance the truck’s performance on various types of terrain. There are four selectable driving settings: Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
